How does GATO help gift officers get agreements signed faster?
You fill in an intake form; GATO drafts the agreement from your institution’s approved templates and screens it for legal and feasibility problems before anyone else sees it. Reviewers work in parallel on one live document, reminders do the chasing, and the donor reviews by email before signing, with no account or password. You can see where every agreement stands at any time, and nothing reaches your donor until it’s ready.
Five steps. You do the first one.

For donor relations →Frequently asked questions
Do donors need to create an account or log in?
No. Donors get a link (or an attachment) to review the agreement, and they can simply reply to the email. Their reply is added to the agreement as a comment for your team. The document they see is locked, so they comment rather than redline. Optional extra verification includes expiring links and a texted code.
Can we keep using DocuSign or Adobe Sign?
Yes. You can route agreements through DocuSign or Adobe Sign, use GATO’s branded signing page, or collect wet-ink signatures. For wet ink, upload the signed scan and GATO compares it against the latest approved draft and flags any language that changed.
How do approvals work?
You save approval routes, for example scholarships over a set amount, and run steps in parallel or in sequence. Reviewers can be asked to sign off on specific sections, like just the restrictions. Signatory rules follow gift size and unit, delegates can cover for absent reviewers, and automated reminders go out by email, in-app notification, or text.
Does GATO use AI?
Yes, for compliance screening, for pre-filling drafts from an uploaded document or donor email thread, and for comparing signed copies against the approved draft. Intake forms, templates, approval routing, reminders, and signing all work without AI, and the AI features are optional.
